The Via del Sale, the Salt trading route from a bygone era, is 40km inland from our Sanremo base. Sitting at over 2000m with views stretching to the sea, this stunning area tracks the French and Italian borders and is peppered with forts and relics from past wars.

In 2025 we will be running our first trips to this amazing place, working with local partners, Softbike Liguria. Softbike have unparalleled local knowledge and share our passion for the area, both on and off-road!

With increasing interest in gravel bike riding and mixing road and off-road adventures, we couldn’t resist giving our guests the option to explore the delights of the trails and high mountains. Gravel biking options are available, but our first trips to the Via del Sale will be best enjoyed on mountain bikes. The tour can be anything from one to five days, including stays in the mountain Rifugio and on the Mediterranean coast. The technical difficulty can be adjusted to suit almost all ability levels.
